The United States Has Launched A Double Investigation Into China, Canada, India, Mexico, And South Korea!

 

On July 29, 2026, the American Transformer Fair Trade Alliance submitted anti-dumping and countervailing duty applications to the US Department of Commerce (DOC) and the US International Trade Commission (ITC), accusing hydraulic cylinders and parts from China, Canada, India, Mexico, and South Korea of dumping and patching imported products, causing substantial damage to the US domestic industry.

 

The US International Trade Commission (ITC) has officially launched a preliminary stage investigation on July 30, 2026, and plans to hold a hearing on August 19. A preliminary damages ruling is expected to be made in mid September. The US Department of Commerce (DOC) is expected to officially file the case around August 18th.

Parts coverage: Steel cylinder components. Steel piston rod assembly. Any hydraulic cylinder component that is attached, assembled, or shipped together with a covered cylinder or piston rod.

In 2024, China's exports of linear hydraulic cylinders and their components to the United States were approximately 324 million pounds, slightly decreasing to approximately 303 million pounds by 2025.

 

According to estimates, the overall export value of hydraulic components and parts from China is expected to be around 4.5-5 billion US dollars in 2024, with the United States accounting for approximately 15% -20%.

 

The US Department of Commerce (DOC) and the US International Trade Commission (ITC) continue to conduct extensive anti-dumping and countervailing investigations into Chinese products. In the first half of 2026, cases involving China accounted for nearly 40% of all trade remedy investigations in the United States, with a high proportion of affirmative rulings.
